Béla Bartók Sonata for Two Pianos and Percussion

A thrilling performance of piano and percussion music, featuring star percussionist Colin Currie.

The evening is one of contrasts: bright and hard, dark and soft, virtuosity and introspection. Finally we embark on Bartok’s incredible Sonata for Two Pianos and Percussion, a formidable work, and mainstay of the percussion and two-piano canon.
Although intended for two very nifty percussionists, some early performances seem to have required a battery of up to half a dozen players, so expect some impressive choreography!
