Drypoint with chine collè
This three hour workshop requires no previous drypoint experience. Participants will be drawing from available plant material, or you can use your own images or sketches. These drawings will be scratched into an acrylic plate using a variety of mark making tools including a Dremmel and sandpaper. You will be shown how to ink and wipe the plate and apply the Chine Collé to create a printed image using an etching press.
Please bring an apron and rubber gloves to protect clothes and hands.

Meet the Tutor: Geraldine Walkington
Geraldine is a painter printmaker, working predominantly in two areas of interest, mountains and flora. She works directly in the environment, or from her sketchbook, in a variety of media. Her images reflect the interplay between drawing disciplines and printmaking using drypoint to show how one approach informs another. By including a technique, Chine Collé, the original drypoint image can be extended by adding specific colour impact from a variety of sources.
